Capturing this attempt was a unique challenge because it was self-supported, which meant there was no film crew on the trail. Everything during the hike was self-filmed.
Anna Brannon shaped the heart of the story through the time we spent together before and after the attempt, from the moment I left the southern terminus in Mexico to her own 60-mile roundtrip hike to meet me at the northern terminus in Canada. She and Emily Cameron also spent time with me in Boston, documenting my daily life, my music practice and writing, and life during and after grad school. Anna beautifully captured the intertwining of music and endurance surrounding the attempt, beyond just the miles.
