Association of Canadian Mountain Guides
ASSOCIATION OF CANADIAN MOUNTAIN GUIDES IS
dedicated to protecting the public interest in mountain travel and climbing instruction. The ACMG sets technical standards for mountain guiding and climbing instructor certification as well as admission standards for ACMG membership. They operate an internationally recognized training and assessment program.
Training is extensive and the examination is both rigorous and fair. They are a not-for-profit society incorporated in Alberta, led by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed by a small administrative support team.
THEY ARE ALSO
a member of the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA). The ACMG was founded in Canmore, Alberta in 1963.
